Developing an Enterprise Knowledge Management Ecosystem

Effective organizations depend on people being able to quickly find, trust, and contribute knowledge. Drawing on my background in technical writing, documentation management, and information architecture, I designed scalable knowledge management systems, publishing standards, reusable templates, and governance models that transformed fragmented documentation into trusted organizational assets supporting consultants, partners, and cross-functional teams worldwide.

Solution

Designed and implemented a scalable enterprise knowledge management ecosystem that transformed information into trusted organizational assets.

Leveraging my background in technical writing, documentation management, and information architecture, I established governance standards, publishing workflows, reusable templates, information architecture, and content lifecycle processes that supported the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of hundreds of customer-facing deliverables and internal knowledge resources.

Rather than treating documentation as static content, I designed systems that enabled distributed subject matter experts to efficiently collaborate, maintain quality standards, and continuously evolve content while ensuring consultants worldwide had access to accurate, consistent, and easily discoverable information.

Business Impact
  • Standardized knowledge management across multiple enterprise organizations.

  • Improved consistency and quality of customer-facing delivery assets.

  • Increased discoverability and accessibility of organizational knowledge.

  • Reduced duplication and outdated content through governance and lifecycle management.

  • Enabled distributed subject matter experts to collaborate efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

  • Created a scalable foundation supporting consultants, partners, and leadership worldwide.

  • Strengthened organizational knowledge retention and accelerated onboarding of new contributors.

Business Challenge

As the Professional Services Practice Development organization expanded globally, critical knowledge became increasingly difficult to organize, maintain, and distribute consistently.

Customer-facing delivery assets, internal guidance, templates, and best practices were developed by subject matter experts across multiple countries and organizations, creating challenges around version control, discoverability, governance, and consistency.

Without a scalable knowledge management strategy, valuable expertise risked becoming fragmented, outdated, or difficult for consultants and partners to access when they needed it most.
